Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 108 words
A method for making a composition of matter comprised of copper and particles which are dispersed throughout the copper, where the particles are comprised of copper oxide or copper having a coating of copper oxide, said method comprising; a oxidizing at least a portion of copper which is in the form of a powder to form particles, each particle consisting of copper having a thin film of copper oxide on its surface; b. consolidating said powder and particles to form a workpiece; and c. exposing said workpiece to microwave radiation in an inert atmosphere until a surface of said workpiece reaches a temperature of at least 500° C.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 17 words
The method of claim 1, where said powder and particles are consolidated by applying pressure to them.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 21 words
The method of claim 2, where said applied pressure has a value of about 10,000 to about 70,000 psi (68.9-482.6 MPa).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 21 words
The method of claim 1, where said microwave radiation has a frequency of from about 500 MHz to about 500 GHz.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 14 words
The method claim 4, where said microwave radiation has a frequency of 2.45 GHz.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 23 words
The method of claim 6, where said microwave radiation is supplied at a power level of from about 50W to about 1 MW.
Claim 8
Independent Claim 16 words
The method of where said microwave radiation is supplied at a power level of about 700W.
Claim 9
Independent Claim 16 words
The method of where said microwave radiation is supplied at a power level of about 700W.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 29 words
The method of claim 1, further characterized in that said workpiece is held at a temperature of at least 500° C. for about 1 minute to about 2 hours.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 22 words
The method of claim 1, where particle sizes of said copper powder range from less than 1 micron to about 10 microns.
