Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 43 words
A gas permeable or highly porous noncompacted article having a porosity of from 40% to 60% and a pore size less than 300 micrometers and being of irregular configuration comprising a sintered structure of dispersion strengthened metal or dispersion strengthened metal alloy particles.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 43 words
A gas permeable or highly porous noncompacted article having a porosity of from 40% to 60% and a pore size less than 300 micrometers and being of irregular configuration comprising a sintered structure of dispersion strengthened metal or dispersion strengthened metal alloy particles.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
The article of claim 1 wherein said particles are dispersion strengthened bronze or dispersion strengthened copper.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 41 words
The article of claims 1 or 2 wherein said structure is a gas permeable foundry mold pattern, the pores of said pattern being interconnected, generally less than 300 micrometers in diameter, and more than 40 percent by volume of pattern volume.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 50 words
The article of claims 1 or 2 prepared by the steps of flame spraying said particles onto a contour followed by sintering; preparing a blend of said particles with a no-slump paste vehicle and forming said paste into a desired shape; or loose-pack filling a mold space with said particles.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 57 words
A gas permeable or highly porous article having a porosity of from 40% to 60% and a pore size of from 15 to 300 micrometers and being of irregular configuration comprising a non-compacted sintered structure made from a mixture of a metal or metal alloy powder and refractory oxide in effective amount to inhibit shrinkage during sintering.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 57 words
A gas permeable or highly porous article having a porosity of from 40% to 60% and a pore size of from 15 to 300 micrometers and being of irregular configuration comprising a non-compacted sintered structure made from a mixture of a metal or metal alloy powder and refractory oxide in effective amount to inhibit shrinkage during sintering.
