Abstract

Abstract An optical disk comprises a polycarbonate substrate, a first protective layer, formed on the substrate and made of SiO 2 , a recording layer, formed on the first protective layer and made of an In-Sb-Te alloy, a second protective layer, formed on the recording layer and made of SiO 2 , and a surface protective layer, formed on the second protective layer and made of an ultraviolet curable resin. The recording layer has a composition of In 50-x Sb 50 Te y Au Z wherein x, y, and z are in atomic %, x=y+z, y≧2z, and 1≦x≦6), In 50-x Sb 50-x Te y Au z (wherein 2x=y+z and 0<x≦10), or (In 100-x Sb x ) 100-y-z Te y Au z (wherein 48≦x≦52 and 0.05≦y+z≦5).
