Abstract
Abstract An apparatus for organizing and displaying management information regarding the hardware and software components in a computer network. The invention includes multiple operational parameters about different components in a computer network wherein the operational parameters are organized into a plurality of hierarchical levels. In one embodiment, the invention includes a plurality of unique forms which enable the modification of one or more of the operational parameters, each of the forms correspond to one of the hierarchical levels. The hierarchical levels are displayed in one pane while the operational parameters corresponding to a selected hierarchical levels are displayed in a second pane. In one embodiment the forms exclude inaccessible operational parameters. In another embodiment, the forms display descriptions of the operational parameters in a user-friendly format.
