A process for the prevention or reduction of cardiac arrhythmias in a human being which comprises administering to said human being a cardiac arrhythmia preventing or reducing amount of a compound of the formula (I): ##STR40## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R and R 1 , which are the same or different, are C 1 -C 4 alkyl; R 2 and R 3 , which are the same or different, are H, halo or C 1 -C 4 alkyl; and X is --CH 2 --, ##STR41## or --CH(OH)--.
