Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 190 words
A process for reducing the pour point of a waxy hydrocarbon fuel oil that boils in the range of about 350° to about 1025° F. and that contains a catalytically deleterious impurity, which process comprises: contacting said hydrocarbon oil with a sorbent comprising a first molecular sieve zeolite having a Constraint Index of about 1 to 12 and a dried crystal density in the hydrogen form of not less than about 1.6 grams per cubic centimeter, said contacting being under sorption conditions effective to remove a substantial fraction of said deleterious impurity and thereby forming a refined waxy oil; contacting said refined waxy oil and hydrogen gas under dewaxing conditions that include a temperature of about 725° to 1000° F. with a catalyst consisting of a second molecular sieve zeolite having a Constraint Index of about 1 to 12 and a dried crystal density in the hydrogen form of not less than about 1.6 grams per cubic centimeter, thereby forming a dewaxed fuel oil admixed with a gasoline fraction having a clear research octane number greater than about 86; and recovering separately said dewaxed fuel oil and said gasoline fraction.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 190 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 31 words
The process described in claim 1 wherein said first and said second molecular sieve zeolites are individually selected from the group consisting of ZSM-5, ZSM-11, ZSM-12, ZSM-23, ZSM-35, ZSM-38 and ZSM-48.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 22 words
The process described in claim 2 wherein said first and second molecular sieve zeolites are both ZSM-5 or ZSM-11 or intergrowths thereof.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 36 words
The process described in claim 1 wherein said dewaxing conditions include a LHSV of 0.1 to 10 and the LHSV for the sorption step is equal to or less than the LHSV for the dewaxing step.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 36 words
The process described in claim 2 wherein said dewaxing conditions include a LHSV of 0.1 to 10 and the LHSV for the sorption step is equal to or less than the LHSV for the dewaxing step.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 36 words
The process described in claim 3 wherein said dewaxing conditions include a LHSV of 0.1 to 10 and the LHSV for the sorption step is equal to or less than the LHSV for the dewaxing step.
