Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 24 words
Acidic uricase having an optimum pH in the range of 4.7 to 5.1, and characterized by catalyzing the oxidation of uric acid to allantoin.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 24 words
Acidic uricase having an optimum pH in the range of 4.7 to 5.1, and characterized by catalyzing the oxidation of uric acid to allantoin.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 65 words
A process for producing acidic uricase which comprises culturing a microorganism belonging to the genus Streptomyces which is capable of producing acidic uricase having an optimum pH in the range of 4.7 to 5.1, and characterized by catalyzing the oxidation of uric acid to allantoin in a nutrient medium until enzymatic activity is detected in the culture liquor and thereafter recovering said acidic uricase therefrom.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 65 words
A process for producing acidic uricase which comprises culturing a microorganism belonging to the genus Streptomyces which is capable of producing acidic uricase having an optimum pH in the range of 4.7 to 5.1, and characterized by catalyzing the oxidation of uric acid to allantoin in a nutrient medium until enzymatic activity is detected in the culture liquor and thereafter recovering said acidic uricase therefrom.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 15 words
A process according to claim 2 wherein said microorganism belongs to the species Streptomyces gannmycicus.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 18 words
A process according to claim 3 wherein said microorganism has the identifying characteristics of Streptomyces gannmycicus ATCC 27434.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 26 words
A process according to claim 2 wherein said culturing is carried out at 25° to 35° C. for 1 to 3 days at about neutral pH.
