Abstract

Abstract A novel polyester composition which can give shaped articles being free from warping and having superior mechanical and thermal properties. The polyester composition comprises (A) 100 parts by weight of an aromatic polyester, (B) 5 to 150 parts by weight of flat glass flakes, and based on the total weight of (A) and (B), (C) 0.01 to 10% by weight of an epoxy compound containing two epoxy groups, and optionally (D) 0.01 to 5% by weight of a phosphorus compound and/or (E) 0.5 to 50% by weight of a rubbery elastomer selected from the group consisting of copolymers containing 30 to 90% of an acrylic ester as a constituent monomer and poly(ether.ester) elastomers. Up to half of the flat glass flakes may be replaced by a powdery inorganic solid such as feldspar.
