Abstract
Abstract Compounds of the formulas ##STR1## wherein R, R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 and n are as hereinafter set forth, are described. The compounds of formulas I and Ia are prepared inter alia by the reaction of the corresponding dibenzo[b,f] thiepin and the corresponding piperazine compound. The end products are useful as neuroleptic agents.

A compound of the formula ##STR11## wherein n is an integer from 1 to 3; R is hydrogen or, when n is 2 or 3, is hydroxy or an alkanoyloxy group of 2-18 carbon atoms; one of R 1 and R 2 is hydrogen and the other is methyl, methoxy, methylthio, dimethylsulfamoyl, fluoro, chloro or trifluoromethyl; and one of R 3 and R 4 is hydrogen, and the other is methyl, methoxy, methylthio, dimethylsulfamoyl, fluoro, chloro or trifluoromethyl, provided that at least one of R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 is fluoro, or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
