Curving mechanism
Abstract
Abstract Curving mechanism having at least two pressure elements 1, 1' which extend vertically and transverse ribs 13, 13' which are arranged perpendicular to the said pressure elements and are connected to them, and comprise an upper and a lower termination strip 14, 8, on which at least one tension element 2, 2', 2'', 2''' which can be operated by a tensioning device 3 acts, the said tension element extending in the vertical direction in, and/or parallel to, the mid-axis of the element formed by the pressure elements 1, 1' and the transverse ribs 13, 13'. The curving mechanism also comprises a frame 1'', 1''' subdivided into vertical sections, which form pressure elements whose length can be varied via an adjusting device 18. The curving mechanism also comprises curving elements 25 which are slotted, overlapping or similar to bellows at a number of points. Tension elements 29-29''''' which act at these points and are provided with a tensioning mechanism 30 effect the closure and opening of these areas of the curving element, as a result of which a curvature in any desired predeterminable direction can be achieved. <IMAGE>
