Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim
109 words
A method of making an endoluminal prosthesis, comprising the steps of: providing a length of wire; forming the wire into at least two zig-zag sections having proximal and distal apexes; rolling the formed wire about an axis to produce at least two tubular elements positioned along the axis such that at least one proximal apex on one element axially overlaps with a distal apex on a second element; folding one of the proximal or distal apex through the overlapping proximal or distal apex to produce a folded link; and closing the folded link such that the folded apex forms a functionally closed aperture which substantially entraps the overlapping apex.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
26 words
A method as in claim 1 , further comprising the step of positioning a tubular polymeric sleeve concentrically on at least one of the tubular elements.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
26 words
A method as in claim 2 , wherein the positioning step comprises positioning the tubular polymeric sleeve concentrically on the outside surface of the tubular element.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
14 words
A method as in claim 3 , wherein the tubular polymeric sleeve comprises PTFE.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
67 words
A movable link for securing two portions of the wall of a tubular endovascular prosthesis, comprising: a first wire portion having two side-by-side legs and an apex thereon; and a second wire portion adjacent the first wire portion; wherein the first wire portion is wrapped around the second wire portion to form a functionally closed aperture, wherein the second wire portion is substantially entrapped within the aperture.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
67 words
A movable link for securing two portions of the wall of a tubular endovascular prosthesis, comprising: a first wire portion having two side-by-side legs and an apex thereon; and a second wire portion adjacent the first wire portion; wherein the first wire portion is wrapped around the second wire portion to form a functionally closed aperture, wherein the second wire portion is substantially entrapped within the aperture.
