Abstract
Abstract A surface-treating agent for carbon black comprising an amino-containing low molecular weight diene polymer which comprises a trunk chain of a low molecular weight diene polymer having a molecular weight of 1,000 to 100,000 and having side chains containing amino groups in an amount of 0.25 to 20 mole % per the diene unit of the trunk chain with the exception as to the ends of the trunk chain. The carbon black surface-treated with the surface-treating agent of the present invention is blended with a matrix polymer such as a diene rubber. The obtained rubber composition is superior in processability, mechanical properties and low fuel consumption and is useful, for example, for use with tires.
