Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 25
Claim 1
Independent Claim 55 words
A method for reducing inflammation associated with a mucosal, local or systemic inflammatory condition in a patient, comprising the step of administering to said patient an effective inflammation-reducing amount of a liquid or gaseous fluorocarbon, said administration comprising a delivery mode selected from-the group consisting of intravenous, intramuscular, intratracheal, intraarterial, subcutaneous, oral, rectal and topical.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 55 words
A method for reducing inflammation associated with a mucosal, local or systemic inflammatory condition in a patient, comprising the step of administering to said patient an effective inflammation-reducing amount of a liquid or gaseous fluorocarbon, said administration comprising a delivery mode selected from-the group consisting of intravenous, intramuscular, intratracheal, intraarterial, subcutaneous, oral, rectal and topical.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 15 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said fluorocarbon is in the form of an emulsion.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 12 words
The method of claim 2 wherein said emulsion is a reverse emulsion.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 27 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said fluorocarbon is administered in a form selected from the group consisting of aerosols, mists, air-borne suspensions, vapors and combinations thereof.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 11 words
The method of claim 1, wherein said fluorocarbon is administered systemically.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 16 words
The method of claim 5, wherein said fluorocarbon is administered in the form of an emulsion.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 16 words
The method of claim 5, wherein said systemic administration comprises introducing said fluorocarbon to the lungs.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 15 words
The method of claim 7, wherein said fluorocarbon is in the form of a gas.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 11 words
The method of claim 7, wherein said fluorocarbon is a liquid.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 15 words
The method of claim 9, wherein said fluorocarbon is in the form of an aerosol.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 40 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said inflammatory condition is a result of the patient suffering from a disorder selected from the group consisting of sepsis, peritonitis, colitis, erythematosus, vasculitis, diverticulitis, collagen vascular disease endometriosis, allergic reactions and autoimmune disorders.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 21 words
The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of administering a breathing gas simultaneously with said liquid or gaseous fluorocarbon.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 20 words
The method of claim 12 wherein said liquid or gaseous fluorocarbon is administered in the form of a saturated vapor.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 15 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said fluorocarbon is delivered directly into the peritoneal cavity.
Claim 16
Independent Claim 39 words
A method for reducing inflammation associated with a mucosal, local or systemic inflammatory condition in a patient, said method comprising the step of pulmonarily administering an inflammation-reducing amount of at least one fluorocarbon in conjunction with a breathing gas.
Claim 17
Independent Claim 39 words
A method for reducing inflammation associated with a mucosal, local or systemic inflammatory condition in a patient, said method comprising the step of pulmonarily administering an inflammation-reducing amount of at least one fluorocarbon in conjunction with a breathing gas.
Claim 18
Dependent Claim 20 words
The method of claim 15 wherein said fluorocarbon is selected from the group consisting of liquid fluorocarbons and gaseous fluorocarbons.
Claim 19
Dependent Claim 27 words
The method of claim 15 wherein said fluorocarbon is administered in a form selected from the group consisting of aerosols, mists, air-borne suspensions, vapors and combinations thereof.
Claim 20
Dependent Claim 41 words
The method of claim 15 wherein said systemic inflammatory condition is a result of the patient suffering from a disorder selected from the group consisting of sepsis, peritonitis, colitis, erythematosus, vasculitis, diverticulitis, collagen vascular disease, endometriosis, allergic reactions and autoimmune disorders.
Claim 21
Independent Claim 45 words
A method for reducing inflammation associated with a mucosal, local or systemic inflammatory condition in a patient comprising: administering an inflammation-reducing effective amount of at least one liquid fluorocarbon into a lung of said patient; and subsequently introducing an oxygen-containing breathing gas into said lung.
Claim 22
Independent Claim 45 words
A method for reducing inflammation associated with a mucosal, local or systemic inflammatory condition in a patient comprising: administering an inflammation-reducing effective amount of at least one liquid fluorocarbon into a lung of said patient; and subsequently introducing an oxygen-containing breathing gas into said lung.
Claim 23
Dependent Claim 28 words
The method of claim 19 wherein said liquid fluorocarbon is administered in a form selected from the group consisting of aerosols, mists, air-borne suspensions, vapors and combinations thereof.
Claim 24
Dependent Claim 18 words
