Abstract
Abstract Disclosed is a silver halide photographic material containing at least one dye of formula (Ia), (Ib), (Ic), or (Id): ##STR1## wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 9 and R 10 may be the same or different and each represents an alkyl group; Z 1 , Z 2 , Z 3 and Z 4 each represents a non-metallic atomic group necessary for forming a nitrogen-containing hetero ring; R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 , R 11 , R 12 , R 13 and R 14 may be the same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group; R 7 , R 8 , R 15 and R 16 may be the same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an amino group or a hydroxyl group; R 3 and R 4 , R 5 and R 6 , R 11 and R 12 , R 13 and R 14 , R 3 and R 7 , R 5 and R 8 , R 11 and R 15 , or R 13 and R 16 may be bonded to each other to form a 5-membered or 6-membered ring; and m and n each represents an integer of from 1 to 4; provided that the dye molecule contains at least two acidic substituents.
