Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 71 words
An automatic cleaning apparatus comprising: a chassis; means for guiding said chassis along a wall; a cleaning element mounted so as to sweep a floor strip of a predetermined width perpendicular to said wall; and stopping and starting means for advancing the chassis over a distance at most equal to said predetermined width, stopping the chassis during the sweeping of said strip on the floor, and subsequently restarting the chassis advance.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 71 words
An automatic cleaning apparatus comprising: a chassis; means for guiding said chassis along a wall; a cleaning element mounted so as to sweep a floor strip of a predetermined width perpendicular to said wall; and stopping and starting means for advancing the chassis over a distance at most equal to said predetermined width, stopping the chassis during the sweeping of said strip on the floor, and subsequently restarting the chassis advance.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 118 words
An automatic cleaning apparatus comprising: a chassis; means for guiding said chassis along a wall; a cleaning element mounted to as to sweep a floor strip of a predetermined width perpendicular to said wall; and stopping and starting means for advancing the chassis over a distance at most equal to said predetermined width, stopping the chassis during the sweeping of said strip on the floor, and subsequently restarting the chassis advance, wherein a sweeping means comprises a semirigid tube able to be wound upward in an approximately vertical plane, a reel located in said plane, and means for winding and unwinding said tube on said reel, said cleaning element being mounted at the free end of said tube.
Claim 4
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 38 words
The invention of claim 2 wherein said winding and unwinding means comprise a motorized endless belt provided with points on its outer surface, said points being designed to work with holes made in the surface of said tube.
