Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 17
Claim 1
Independent Claim
112 words
A housing for a portable hand held radio telephone device comprising an upper cover and a lower cover having outer surfaces, said upper cover and said lower cover being made of heat insulating material; and a metal chassis having a good thermal conductivity held between said upper cover and said lower cover, said chassis having a surface part thereof exposed to the outer surface of said device, said exposed surface part being recessed inwardly from the outer surfaces of said upper cover and said lower cover such that direct contact between the hand by which said device is held and said surface part is prevented when the device is held by hand.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
23 words
The housing according to claim 1, wherein said metal chassis has an exposed portion slightly projected from the bottom surface of the housing.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
44 words
The housing according to claim 1, wherein the exposed portion of said metal chassis is formed in the shape of a frame having an inner surface, and a connector means for connecting an external power source is provided in the center of said frame.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
35 words
The housing according to claim 3, wherein a convex portion positioned to engage and hold an external connector is provided on the inner surface of the exposed portion of said frame of said metal chassis.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
47 words
The housing according to claim 4, wherein a metal connector cover of the external connector which is engaged and held by said convex portion and connected to said connector is brought into surface contact with said exposed portion of said frame enabling heat to be dissipated therethrough.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
30 words
The housing according to claim 5, wherein said metal connector cover is provided in contact with said exposed portion of said frame with a heat conductive rubber sheet positioned therebetween.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
35 words
The housing according to claim 4, wherein the exposed portion of said frame of said metal chassis is adapted to be placed in surface contact with a flat surface when the external connector is removed.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
16 words
The housing according to claim 1, wherein said metal chassis is made by aluminum die casting.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
18 words
The housing according to claim 1, wherein a battery pack is mounted as part of said lower cover.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
20 words
The housing according to claim 1, wherein said lower cover and said upper cover are made of a polycarbonate resin.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim
118 words
A housing for a portable hand held radio telephone device comprising an upper cover and a lower cover having outer surfaces, at least one of which is formed of a composite body of a synthetic resin and a metal plate cover; and a metal chassis having good thermal conductivity positioned between said upper cover and said lower cover, said chassis having a surface part thereof exposed to the outer surface of said device, said exposed surface part being recessed inwardly from the outer surfaces of said upper cover and said lower cover such that direct contact between the hand by which said device is held and said surface part is prevented when the device is held by hand.
Claim 13
Claim 14
Dependent Claim
47 words
The housing according to claim 11, wherein said composite body is designed so that a synthetic resin layer is formed on an inner surface of said metal plate cover which has numerous holes therein, said synthetic resin layer being projected outside through said holes to form projections.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim
45 words
The housing according to claim 12, wherein a dimensional relationship between the height and pitch of the projections of the synthetic resin layer are set such that a hand by which said device is held will not directly make contact with the metal plate cover.
Claim 16
Dependent Claim
15 words
The housing according to claim 12, wherein said synthetic resin material comprises a thermoplastic resin.
Claim 17
Dependent Claim
20 words
The housing according to claim 11, wherein said synthetic resin material comprises a flexible elastomer resin or a rubber material.
