Abstract
Abstract A silver halide photographic material is disclosed, having at least one hydrophilic colloid layer comprising a polyester support and having a polymer latex on at least one side of said polyester support, wherein both surfaces of said support are coated with a polymer layer comprising a copolymer containing from 50 to 99.5% by weight vinylidene chloride and wherein both polymer layers have a thickness of at least 0.3 μm. A method for treating the silver halide photographic material is also disclosed.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim
170 words
A method for preparing a rolled silver halide photographic element comprising the steps of: (A) providing a polymer layer on both surfaces of a biaxially oriented polyester support having a thickness of 40-200 μm, wherein said polymer layer consists essentially of a copolymer containing from 50 to 99.5% by weight vinylidene chloride and 50 to 0.5% of at least one comonomer, wherein each polymer layer has a thickness of at least 0.3 μm; (B) providing at least one hydrophillic colloid layer, containing from 0.01 to 1.0 parts by weight of a polymer latex per 1.0 part by weight of a binder in said hydrophillic colloid layer, on at least one side of the resulting polyester support of step (A), wherein at least one of said hydrophillic colloid layers is a silver halide emulsion layer; and (C) winding the resulting silver halide photographic element of step (B) around a core such that the surface temperature of the provided layers of the silver halide photographic element is from 40° to 50° C.
Claim 2
Independent Claim

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
41 words
The method as claimed in claim 1, additionally comprising the step of: (D) allowing the resulting rolled silver halide photographic element of step (C) to stand for at least 8 hours in a packed state in a heat insulating packaging material.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
38 words
The method as claimed in claim 2, wherein packaging is carried out such that the inside of the resulting package has temperature of from 18° C. to 30° C. and a relative humidity of from 40% to 55%.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
47 words
The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said comonomer is selected from the group consisting of acrylic acid ester, a vinyl monomer having an alcohol at the side chain thereof, an alkyl acrylate, acrylonitrile, itaconic acid, methacrylate acid, itaconate, alkyl methacrylic methacrylate, acrylimide and mixtures thereof.
