Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 59 words
A process for producing a spectrally sensitized silver halide photographic emulsion comprising adding a substantially water-insoluble organic spectral sensitizing dye in an aqueous medium to an emulsion before completion of the formation of silver halide grains without using an organic solvent, wherein said substantially water-insoluble organic spectral sensitizing dye has a water solubility of 0.01% by weight or less.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 59 words
A process for producing a spectrally sensitized silver halide photographic emulsion comprising adding a substantially water-insoluble organic spectral sensitizing dye in an aqueous medium to an emulsion before completion of the formation of silver halide grains without using an organic solvent, wherein said substantially water-insoluble organic spectral sensitizing dye has a water solubility of 0.01% by weight or less.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 40 words
A process for producing a spectrally sensitized silver halide photographic emulsion as in claim 1, wherein the substantially water-insoluble organic spectral sensitizing dye is used in the form of particles having a mean grain size of 1 μm or less.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 41 words
A process for producing a spectrally sensitized silver halide photographic emulsion as in claim 1, wherein the substantially water-insoluble organic spectral sensitizing dye is used in the form of particles having a mean grain size of from 1 to 0.1 μm.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 40 words
A process for producing a spectrally sensitized silver halide photographic emulsion as in claim 1, wherein the substantially water-insoluble organic dye is dispersed in water with the aid of dispersing agent, and the resulting dispersion is added to the emulsion.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 29 words
A process for producing a spectrally sensitized silver halide photographic emulsion as in claim 4, wherein the dispersion is dried to a powder form before addition to the emulsion.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 39 words
A process for producing a spectrally sensitized silver halide photographic emulsion as in claim 1, wherein the substantially water-insoluble organic dye and a dispersing agent are homogenized with a binder, and the resulting homogenate is added to the emulsion.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 46 words
A process for producing a spectrally sensitized silver halide photographic emulsion as in claim 1, wherein the substantially water-insoluble organic dye is pulverized in water without the aid of a dispersing agent into fine particles of 1 μm or less, and added directly to the emulsion.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 34 words
A process for producing a spectrally sensitized silver halide photographic emulsion as in claim 1, wherein the substantially water-insoluble organic dye is an anionic dye containing at least one sulfo group or sulfoalkyl group.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 31 words
A process for producing a spectrally sensitized silver halide photographic emulsion as in claim 1, wherein said substantially water-insoluble organic spectral sensitizing dye is a cyanine dye or a merocyanine dye.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 98 words
A process for producing a spectrally sensizited silver halide photographic emulsion as in claim 1, wherein said substantially water-insoluble organic spectral sensitizing dye is a cyanine dye represented by the formula (I): ##STR6## wherein Z 1 and Z 2 each represents a heterocyclic mucleus; L 1 and L 2 each represents a methine group or a substituted methine group; R 1 and R 2 each represents an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group or an allyl group; m 1 represents 1, 2 or 3; X 1 represents an acid anion group; and N 1 represents 1 or 2.
