Abstract
Abstract Hydrogen sulfide and/or carbonyl sulfide in a gas which does not substantially contain oxygen can easily be removed from the gas by contacting the gas with an activated carbon containing (1) a copper compound and (2) an alkali metal compound and/or alkaline earth metal compound at a temperature of not higher than 150° C.
