A shampoo composition having good freeze-thaw stability consisting essentially of: (a) from about 0.5% to about 10% of a hair conditioning agent selected from the group consisting of quaternary ammonium compounds and quaternary amidazolinium compounds; (b) from about 5% to about 25% of a higher alkylamido betaine, wherein the alkyl group is selected from the group consisting of lauryl, myristyl and mixtures thereof; and (c) the remainder water.
