Abstract
Abstract An improved process for the production of high viscosity lubricating oils obtained by reacting olefins over ZSM-5 type zeolites at elevated temperatures and pressures in order to obtain a liquid product and thereafter recovering a lube oil fraction from said liquid product is disclosed. The improvement resides in the use of large crystal ZSM-5 which has been found to enhance the viscosity index of lubes produced from olefins.
