Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 117 words
In the process for the catalytic cracking of gas oil to produce products boiling in the naphtha and distillate fuel range wherein said gas oil is contacted at elevated temperatures over a catalyst comprising a zeolite, the improvement which comprises utilizing as a catalyst a composition comprising a matrix and a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite, said crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite being characterized by (1) a framework silica-to-alumina ratio greater than ˜100; (2) a pore size greater than about at least 8 Angstrom units; (3) an alpha value no greater than 3 as a result of said zeolite having had its activity reduced by treatment of the same with alkali metal cations at a pH of from 4 to 6.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 117 words

The process of claim 1 wherein said large pore crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite is selected from the group consisting of zeolite Y, zeolite beta, and zeolite ZSM-20.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 2 wherein said zeolite is zeolite Y.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 18 words
The process of claim 3 wherein said zeolite Y has been treated with a solution of sodium nitrate.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 13 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the pH is from 4 to 5.
