Claim 1
Independent Claim
161 words
An image information recording apparatus, comprising: means for reading an image carried on an image carrying member and for generating a first electric signal representing the image, said reading and first signal generating means including means for projecting light to the image carrying member in an elongate projection area extending across the image carrying member, means for moving the light projected by said projecting means in a direction substantially perpendicular to the length of the elongate projection area, and photoelectric transducer means for receiving the projected light from the image carrying member to generate a first electric signal representative of the image; means for combining the first electric signal with a second electric signal representing information to be recorded, which is different from the image of said image carrying member, to form a third electric signal; means for generating a laser beam modulated in accordance with the third electric signal; and means for scanning a recording medium with the laser beam.
Claim 2

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
40 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said reading and first signal generating means includes means for generating a binary signal corresponding to the signal generated by said photoelectric transducer means, the binary signal thereby constituting the first electric signal.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
53 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said reading and first signal generating means includes means for generating a binary signal which corresponds to the signal generated by said photoelectric transducer means and which has a level different from that of the second electric signal, the binary signal being the first electric signal.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
43 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said reading and first signal generating means includes means for converting the signal generated by said photoelectric transducer means to a binary signal, and means for inverting the binary signal to form the first electric signal.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
