Abstract
Abstract The corrosion resistance of dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) modified unsaturated polyester or DCPD modified unsaturated polyesteramide resins can be improved by replacing a part of the styrene used as a reactant diluent in the resin with materials, such as divinylbenzene.

A resin formulation having improved properties comprised essentially of: (a) a dicyclopentadiene modified unsaturated polyester, polyesteramide, or a mixture thereof, (b) a monovinyl aromatic monomer or mixture of monovinyl aromatic monomers, and (c) a polyvinyl aromatic monomer or mixture of polyvinyl aromatic monomers wherein components (b) and (c) are present in amounts of 20 to 60 percent by weight of component (a), and component (c) comprises 1 to 33 percent by weight of the total weight of (b) and (c).
