Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 88 words
In a fluid coking process comprising the steps of: contacting a carbonaceous chargestock with hot fluidized solids in a fluidized coking bed contained in a coking zone maintained in a fluidized state by the introduction of a fluidizing gas and operated at coking conditions, to produce a vapor phase product and a solid carbonaceous material which deposits on said fluidized solids, the improvement which comprises the presence of a catalyst in said coking zone, said catalyst comprising an effective amount of at least one alkaline earth metal ferrite.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 88 words
In a fluid coking process comprising the steps of: contacting a carbonaceous chargestock with hot fluidized solids in a fluidized coking bed contained in a coking zone maintained in a fluidized state by the introduction of a fluidizing gas and operated at coking conditions, to produce a vapor phase product and a solid carbonaceous material which deposits on said fluidized solids, the improvement which comprises the presence of a catalyst in said coking zone, said catalyst comprising an effective amount of at least one alkaline earth metal ferrite.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 25 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said alkaline earth metal is selected from the group consisting of beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium and mixtures thereof.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 28 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said alkaline earth metal ferrite is selected from the group consisting of calcium metaferrite, calcium orthoferrite, magnesioferrite, barium ferrite, and mixtures thereof.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said alkaline earth metal ferrite is barium ferrite.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 30 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said catalyst is present in said coking zone in a weight ratio of catalyst to carbonaceous feed ranging from about 0.1:1 to about 1:1.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 29 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said catalyst is added to said chargestock in an amount ranging from about 0.1 to about 10 weight percent based on said chargestock.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 27 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said alkaline earth metal ferrite is present in said catalyst in an amount ranging from about 0.1 to 100 weight percent.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 20 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said catalyst has a particle size of less than about 44 microns in diameter.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 20 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said coking conditions include a temperature ranging from about 850° to about 1400° F.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 20 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said coking conditions include a temperature ranging from about 900° to about 1200° F.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 20 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said coking conditions include a pressure ranging from about 0 to about 150 psig.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 16 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said catalyst consists essentially of an alkaline earth metal ferrite.
