A sealing composition having a low expansivity which consisting essentially of 50% by weight or less of a β-eucryptite particle having on the surface thereof a single layer of or multiple layers of a member selected from the group consisting of tin oxide, titanium oxide, zirconium oxide and a mixture of two or more of said oxides, said oxides being present in a thickness of about 1μ or less; and a resin.
