Abstract
Abstract The immobilization of glucose isomerase onto a support matrix is enhanced by pretreating the support matrix with divalent magnesium ions. In one embodiment, the support matrix is an inorganic oxide impregnated with a polyamine which is subsequently cross-linked with an excess of a bifunctional reagent so as to furnish a plurality of pendant functional groups, and the wash solution is magnesium sulfate.
