Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 127 words
A filtration apparatus for the removal of liquid particles from a stream of gas comprising filtration means including a plurality of adjacent, non-woven randomly orientated metal fiber webs of a fiber diameter less than 50 μm, means for passing a stream of gas containing liquid particles at least some of which are of submicron dimensions through said filtration means at a velocity of less than 70 cm/sec, means for removing from said filtration means said stream of gas from which at least some of submicron particles have been removed, and outlet means for the removed liquid, said filtration means having a porosity of at least 0.985 and being moistenable by said liquid particles, whereby said liquid particles may diffuse from the gas stream to said filtration means.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 127 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 21 words
A filtration apparatus as in claim 1 and wherein said filtration material has a porosity of at least 0.99 during filtration.
Claim 4
Independent Claim 113 words
A method for filtering a stream of gas at high efficiency for removing liquid particles at least some of which are of submicron dimensions therefrom comprising passing the stream of gas at a velocity of less than 70 cm/sec through a filter material comprising a plurality of adjacent non-woven randomly orientated metal fiber webs of a fiber diameter less than 50 μm moistenable by said liquid particles, said webs having a porosity of at least 0.985, whereby said liquid particles may diffuse from the gas stream to said filter material and at least some of said submicron particles are thereby removed from said gas stream, and removing captured liquid from the filter material.
Claim 5
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 20 words
A method as in claim 3 and wherein the filter material has a porosity of at least 0.99 during filtration.
