Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim 184 words
A powder suitable for application by electrostatic powder spray gun to conductive surfaces, said powder being comprised of a mixture of (A) an acrylic polymer (B) a blocked polyisocyanate, and (C) 2 to 15% by weight, based on film forming solids, of sucrose benzoate, said acrylic polymer being a copolymer of a mixture of (a) 0 to 25% by weight, of a monomer of the group consisting of styrene, α-methyl styrene and vinyl toluene, (b) 3 to 25% by weight of an active hydrogen containing monoethylenically unsaturated compound of the formula ##STR2## where R is hydrogen or methyl and R 1 is an alkylene radical containing 2 to 4 carbon atoms, (c) 45 to 97% by weight of a lower alkyl ester of methacrylic acid and (d) 0 to 30% by weight of a lower alkyl ester of acrylic acid, said acrylic resin being further characterized as having a glass transition temperature between 45° C. and 95° C., and wherein the ratio of (A) and (B) is substantially 1:1 on the basis of equivalents of hydroxyl groups in (A) to isocyanate groups in (B).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 184 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 14 words
A powder as in claim 1 wherein the blocked polyisocyanate is a blocked diisocyanate.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 15 words
A powder as in claim 1 which contains 1 to 50% by weight of pigment.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 18 words
A powder as in claim 2 wherein the blocked polyisocyanate is decomposable at 250° F. to 350° F.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 13 words
A powder as in claim 2 wherein the polyisocyanate is blocked with caprolactam.
Claim 7

Claim 9
Dependent Claim 12 words
A powder as in claim 7 wherein the solvent is methylene chloride.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 26 words
A powder as in claim 2 wherein the acrylic polymer is a copolymer of 30% styrene, 30% isobutyl methacrylate, 25% butyl methacrylate and 15% hydroxyethyl methacrylate.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 12 words
A powder as in claim 2 wherein the polyisocyanate is isophorone diisocyanate.
