Abstract

Abstract The instant invention relates to a process for the production of polyureas wherein solutions of organic polyisocyanates are reacted with primary and/or secondary organic polyamines in the presence of tetracarboxylic acid dianhydrides. The polyisocyanates used are preferably difunctional linear prepolymers containing terminal isocyanate groups, while the amines used are preferably diamines. The resultant product, which contains carboxyl groups, may then be neutralized and dispersed in water.
