Abstract PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT POLYAMIDE-IMIDES BY REACTION OF (A) A LACTAM, (B) AN ORGANIC ISOCYANATE AND (C) A CYCLIC DICARBOXYLIC ACID ANHYDRIDE CONTAINING AT LEAST ONE ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL GROUP CAPABLE OF CONDENSATION OR ADDITION REACTION. THE POLYAMIDEIMIDES PRODUCED ARE SUITABLE FOR USE AS HEAT RESISTANT PLASTICS.
