Abstract

Abstract This invention provides a process for and products of the Mannich condensation reaction of oxidized olefinic polymers. The Mannich reaction is carried out in the presence of about 0.01 to 40.0% by weight of an oil soluble sulfonic acid based on the neat polymer. The sulfonic acid improves the properties of the oxidized oil soluble Mannich reaction product and catalyzes the Mannich condensation reaction.
