Abstract
Abstract Novel antibiotic, nogalamycinic acid (U-51,205) prepared by the chemical modification of the known antibiotic nogalamycin. Nogalamycinic acid is active against various microorganisms, for example, Mycobacterium avium, Bacillus subtilis, Lactobacillus casei, Staphylococcus aureus, and Sarcina lutea. Thus, nogalamycinic acid can be used to inhibit the growth of the above microorganisms in various environments.
