Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 17
Claim 1
Independent Claim 85 words
A method of preparation of a pre-cast shaped concrete article which comprises casting and curing a cementing composition initially including an inorganic cement, and an aqueous emulsion or dispersion of a water-insoluble polymer or copolymer derived from one or more alkyl methacrylates having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, the said polymer or copolymer having a glass transition temperature of at least 10° C. and the curing being effected, after initial setting, at an elevated temperature of at least 40° C.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 85 words
A method of preparation of a pre-cast shaped concrete article which comprises casting and curing a cementing composition initially including an inorganic cement, and an aqueous emulsion or dispersion of a water-insoluble polymer or copolymer derived from one or more alkyl methacrylates having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, the said polymer or copolymer having a glass transition temperature of at least 10° C. and the curing being effected, after initial setting, at an elevated temperature of at least 40° C.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 15 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the curing temperature is at least 50° C.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 17 words
A method according to claim 2 wherein the curing temperature is from 50° C. to 200° C.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 17 words
A method according to claim 3 wherein the curing temperature is from 70° C. to 160° C.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 15 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the curing temperature is at least 90° C.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 19 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the curing period at the elevated temperature is at least 12 hours.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 17 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the period of initial setting is at least 12 hours.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 16 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the initial setting is effected at substantially ambient temperature.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 32 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the proportion of polymer or copolymer (calculated on a dry basis) is from 5% to 50% by weight of the cement component of the composition.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 22 words
A method according to claim 9 wherein the proportion of polymer or copolymer is from 15% to 35% of the cement component.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 48 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein there is employed a copolymer derived from one or more alkyl methacrylates having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl group and from one or more alkyl acrylates having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl group.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 16 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the polymer or copolymer is derived from methyl methacrylate.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 28 words
A method according to claim 11 wherein the polymer is a homopolymer of methyl methacrylate or a copolymer containing at least 65% by weight of methyl methacrylate units.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 18 words
A method according to claim 11 wherein there is employed a copolymer of methyl methacrylate and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate.
Claim 16
Dependent Claim 20 words
A method according to claim 11 wherein there is employed a copolymer of methyl methacrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate and acrylic acid.
Claim 17
Dependent Claim 21 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the polymer or copolymer has a glass transition temperature of at least 20° C.
