Abstract

Abstract Compounds of the class of 5-hydroxy-5-aryl-2,3-dihydro-5Himidazo(2,1-a)isoindoles and which are useful as psychic energizers and anorectics are prepared by reduction of a 2-( Beta -aminoethyl) phthalimidine followed by air oxidation of the resulting isoindole intermediate.
