Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 26 words
The process of claim 1 in which contact of the treated fraction with the solvent is effected at a temperature between 50* F. and 400* F.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 23 words
The process of claim 1 in which the stable water-asphaltene emulsion is formed on cooling said product to a temperature below 400* F.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 18 words
The process of claim 3 in which the solvent contacting is effected in the presence of said emulsion.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 20 words
The process of claim 3 in which the emulsion is removed prior to contacting the H2O treated fraction with solvent.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 1 in which the solvent is N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 19 words
The process of claim 1 in which the solvent is a low molecular weight paraffin containing 3-10 carbon atoms.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 25 words
The process of claim 1 in which the solvent de-asphalted oil is subjected to catalytic treatment at a temperature between 700* F. and 950* F.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 12 words
The process of claim 8 in which the catalytic treatment is cracking.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 12 words
The process of claim 8 in which the catalytic treatment is hydrocracking.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 12 words
The process of claim 8 in which the catalytic treatment is hydrodesulfurization.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 49 words
The process of claim 1 in which the heavy petroleum fraction is introduced into a dispersing zone at a rate between 0.5 and 5.0 volumes of heavy petroleum fraction per volume of dispersing zone per hour and the H2O is introduced at a rate between 0.1 and 5.0 v/v/hr.
