Elastic rotating body and fixing device having the same

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve fixability and wear resistance by incorporating a packing material having 0.5-15mum grain size into elastic layers and independently distributing the packing material into the elastic layers. CONSTITUTION:A fixing roller 1 and a press roller 10 have the elastic layers 4, 14 and resin layers 6, 16. For example, silicone rubber is used for the layers 4, 14. Quartz having 0.5-15mum grain size is incorporated as the packing material into the silicone rubber. The packing material is specified to have <=5mum standard deviation of a number grain size distribution. The packing material deposited on the surface is removed during the surface polishing of the elastic layers. The fixability, durability and release property are thereby improved.
