Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To achieve arbitrary setting of the tool length by, on the basis of one fixed spindle, making the rest of adjusting spindles capable of up-and-down movement independent of each other. CONSTITUTION:The predetermined tools 13 are mounted on the reference spindle 2 and adjusting spindle 3. The difference between the tool length L0 of the reference spindle 2 and the tool length L1 of the adjusting spindle 3 is eliminated by rotating a motor 8 by the amount corresponding to the difference and thus by moving, in upward or downward direction, the sliding bearing cylinder 5 which supports the spindle 3 allowing the spindle 3 to rotate. Finally, the tool lengths L0, L1 of the spindles are made identical.
