Multicored optical connector

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To effectively connect an optical fiber, by pinching the optical fiber by two guide substrates which have been grooved on one surface, inserting them into a guide frame, and opposing the end face to other optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:Between guide substrates 6, 6' which have cut plural V-grooves on one surface, optical fibers F1-F4 and F1'-F4' are placed and stuck, by which plugs P1, P2 are formed. When both plugs are inserted so as to be butted, they are pressed by force a1, a2 of compression springs, operating between a bottom surface 9 and a guide frame, and a side surface 10 and a pressing plate 12, and the plugs are positioned. As for the guide substrates 6, 6', when a distance between one side surface 7 and the nearest V-groove to the side surface is constituted with high accuracy, the plugs are positioned exactly.
