Method to control a wastegate valve of a turbocharger
Abstract
The internal combustion engine is equipped with at least one exhaust gas turbocharger. Its compressor is connected to a manifold intake manifold of the internal combustion engine via a boost pressure line and its turbine is inserted into an exhaust gas line originating from an exhaust gas manifold. A controllable blow-off valve (wastegate) is built into a bypass line starting from the exhaust manifold, which bypasses the turbine, and the compressor can be short-circuited via a vent valve. According to the invention, the relief valve is controlled for at least a limited period of time in the closed state when the internal combustion engine switches to overrun mode. A loss of exhaust gas energy during a switching operation is thereby avoided, so that the internal combustion engine starts up more quickly after the switching operation has ended.
