Abstract

Abstract A process and composition for the preservation of perishable biological specimens is used to embalm macroscopic lifeless biological specimens by immersion, infusion and infiltration techniques with a composition containing embalming agents that are compounds of the formula wherein R may be the same or different and is selected from the group consisting of H, CH₂OH, and -CH₂-, with the proviso that all of the R groups may not simultaneously be hydrogen and that when R is -CH₂-, both bonds may be attached to the same nitrogen atom or to two different nitrogen atoms, or may serve as a bridge to connect one additional unit having structure I.
