Abstract THE FLOW OF FUEL TO AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE IS CONTROLLED TO PROVIDE A SAFETY SHUT DOWN OF THE ENGINE IN RESPONSE TO MALFUNCTION OF THE ENGINE OR AN ACCESSORY DEVICE DRIVEN BY THE ENGINE. A SOLENOID OPERATED VALVE IS CONNECTED IN THE FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM AND HAS ITS OPERATING COIL ADAPTED TO BE ENERGIZED BY AN ELECTRONIC SENSING CIRCUIT WHICH MONITORS OPERATION OF THE ENGINE OR THE ACCESSORY DEVICE.
