Abstract
Abstract A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for performing data mining applications in a relational database management system executed by a massively parallel processing (MPP) computer system. An analytic application programming interface (API), executed by the computer, generates a data reduction function performed directly within the relational database management system. The data reduction function builds at least one matrix within the relational database management system from data stored in the relational database.
