Abstract

Abstract Ion-implanted protein-coated occlusion coils are described which have essentially the same dimensions as untreated coils and exhibit altered surface properties, e.g., thrombogenicity, endothelial cellular migration and adhesion, relative to untreated coils thus making them particularly useful in treating wide-necked brain aneurysms.
