Abstract

Abstract A method and device for irradiating a material, such as a tissue in a patient, is described. The method features the step of first exposing the tissue with radiation. Following the exposing step, the radiation is partially re-emitted (e.g., reflected or scattered) from the tissue. The re-emitted radiation is then collected and imaged back onto the tissue using an external irradiating device containing, for example, a hemispherically shaped reflective housing. The housing contains a reflective coating disposed on one of its surfaces.
