Abstract
Abstract PCT No. PCT/DE94/00098 Sec. 371 Date Aug. 4, 1995 Sec. 102(e) Date Aug. 4, 1995 PCT Filed Feb. 1, 1994 PCT Pub. No. WO94/18612 PCT Pub. Date Aug. 18, 1994A method for adjusting scale factors of fuzzy controllers or conventional non-linear controllers provides that these scale factors are selected in such a way that a standardized cross-correlation function of a scaled input signal is optimized by means of an associated output signal.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim
41 words
A method for operating a non-linear controller having scaled input signals, comprising the step of: selecting the scale factors in such a way that a standardized cross-correlation of a scaled input signal is optimized by means of an associated output signal.
Claim 2
Independent Claim
41 words
A method for operating a non-linear controller having scaled input signals, comprising the step of: selecting the scale factors in such a way that a standardized cross-correlation of a scaled input signal is optimized by means of an associated output signal.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
25 words
A method for operating a non-linear controller as claimed in claim 1, further comprising the step of: prescribing the optimum value of the standardized cross-correlation.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
30 words
A method for operating a non-linear controller as claimed in claim 1, further comprising the step of: determining the scale factors by maximizing an absolute value of the standardized cross-correlation.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
25 words
A method for operating a non-linear controller as claimed in claim 1, further comprising the step of: determining an optimum offset of the input signal.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
80 words
A method for operating a non-linear controller as claimed in claim 1, wherein the input signals of the non-linear controller are scaled with aid of scale factors, said scale factors being selected in such a way that a standardized cross-correlation of a scaled input signal by means of an associated output signal is optimized in such a way that, starting from large initial values of the scale factors, the scale factors are reduced step-by-step until the standardized cross-correlation is optimized.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
41 words
A method for operating a non-linear controller as claimed in claim 1, wherein said optimization is carried out under a constraint that the optimum value of the standardized cross-correlation must have sufficient sensitivity with respect to changes in average input signal.
