Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim
60 words
A method of modulating the autonomic nervous system responses to noxious stimulation, comprising the step of administering to a mammal a pharmaceutical composition comprising an adenosine compound at a dosage sufficient to attenuate the autonomic nervous system responses to noxious stimulation, wherein said adenosine compound is selected from the group consisting of adenosine, adenosine monophosphate, adenosine diphosphate, and adenosine triphosphate.
Claim 2
Independent Claim
60 words
A method of modulating the autonomic nervous system responses to noxious stimulation, comprising the step of administering to a mammal a pharmaceutical composition comprising an adenosine compound at a dosage sufficient to attenuate the autonomic nervous system responses to noxious stimulation, wherein said adenosine compound is selected from the group consisting of adenosine, adenosine monophosphate, adenosine diphosphate, and adenosine triphosphate.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
47 words
The method of claim 1, wherein said method further comprises the step of administering a compound selected from the group consisting of an opioid, nitrous oxide, a benzodiapine, and a halogenated anesthetic compound at a dosage sufficient to attenuate the autonomic nervous system responses to noxious stimulation.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
11 words
The method of claim 1, wherein the mammal is a human.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
18 words
The method of claim 1, wherein the dosage administered is from about 5 μg/kg/min to about 5000 μg/kg/min.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
20 words
The method of claim 1, wherein said noxious stimulation is selected from the group consisting of surgical stimulation and hypothermia.
