Abstract
Abstract An AC pump sutiable for use in a locomotive having a DC auxiliary electrical system. The pump includes an AC motor having a housing and a vertically mounted rotor. A pumpbody is clamped into place by a cap, which in turn is mounted to the housing by bolts which are readily accessible from above. A DC-AC inverter is housed in the cap. By removing the cap, the pump body can be removed, and the pump components can be accessed without disconnecting the DC-AC inverter from the DC current source.
