Abstract

Abstract A method of playing a lottery game is disclosed in which winning numbers are selected by the outcome of one or more sporting events such as horse races. A lottery ticket may be printed which has three rows and three columns of randomly generated numbers. The winning numbers, as determined by the sporting event, are also placed in a three-by-three grid and compared to each player's grid of random numbers. A pattern is formed by comparing the winning numbers to the player's numbers and payment is made to each player in accordance with the number of complete rows, columns and diagonals in each player's pattern.
