Abstract

Abstract An ophthalmic lens including a first zone located in a central portion of the ophthalmic lens such that a central axis intersects the center of the first zone. The first zone having a spherical posterior surface for correcting distance vision. The ophthalmic lens further includes a second zone, positioned about the periphery of the first zone, and having a posterior surface of revolution defined by rotating a portion of a spiral curve about a central axis of the ophthalmic lens. Additionally, the ophthalmic lens may include a third zone positioned about the periphery of the second zone, and having a spherical posterior surface for correcting near vision.
